New cohort of Mahila Udhyogini (Women Entrepreneurs) trained and funded

Mahila Udhyogini project was started by TAP in 2023 to provide training, coaching and funding to small scale women entrepreneurs. Idobro was the partner that pulled this project together, had feet on the ground to work with these women in Vasai village at the north end of Mumbai. We shortlisted and trained 25 women in how to run business, keep books, utilize banking system and leverage government programs. In addition, we funded 13 women to use the money for capital expenditure which resulted in increased revenue multi-fold.

This funding was provided as zero interest loan and we were successful in getting large sums of the money back. Although TAP Charity closed this project, Idobro continues to run with it, utilizing funds raised locally in India as well as the returned loans from previous cohort. They started a new cohort in Marol village, brought in experts to train them in business management, bookkeeping, managing healthy lifestyle to educate these women, 6 women of this group were provided funds to expand their businesses. This is a report on the progress made in 2025 with this cohort.
