TAP Charity is built on one simple belief – Talent, Time, and Treasure can change lives.
A year ago, I saw this in action at Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai with the Leukemia Lymphoma Foundation (LLF).
The hospital corridor looked less like a hospital and more like a crowded bus station. Families crowded together, clutching hope. On the pediatrics floor, toddlers with IV tubes taped to their cheeks sat wherever they could. Volunteers from Make-A-Wish moved quietly, listening for children’s big wishes.
It was impossible not to feel the weight of someone’s fear. And then I met Sheetal, the heart of LLF who told me:
“TAP’s funds are invaluable because they come with no prerequisites. It lets us say YES immediately.”
One “YES” can mean the difference between starting treatment today or not at all.
Later, I heard about a young boy, his father passed away, his mother fighting cancer, himself so overwhelmed that, in despair, he wanted to give up. One volunteer stayed by his side, offered hope, and got his family the help they needed.
Weeks later, his mother was in remission.
The boy lived.
That is what Giving Tuesday is about, not just charity or a campaign, but giving someone a reason not to give up.
In 2024, TAP Charity supported 44 patients at LLF. The need is much greater.
When asked her dream, Sheetal answered without hesitation:
“If we could support 2,000 patients, that would be nirvana. Our first bold step: $250,000.”
